Our Story
Susann grew up in a small village in Germany that had less than 100 people in it. Her mother cooked fresh meals every day using the organic fruit and vegetables that her and Susann's father grew. That is where Susann's interest in organic, good food came from, and it formed the beginnings of her inspiration to become a chef.
Her other inspiration was her grandmother "Mia", which is short for Maria. She had a remarkable influence on how Susann bakes today after having spent a lot of time watching her while growing up.

After completing her training and working a few years in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (which included working for an organic baker in Hamburg), Susann and I moved to New Zealand. We have now been here for over 10 years and recently decided to set up our own bread business so the wonderful locals and visitors of Waiheke can experience the same amazing German style bread that we grew up with.
